IRON NEST Shell Supply Guide: Reload Without Waste

Use the supply station and six-round magazines efficiently, choose shells and powder before committing them, and avoid waste from an unchecked firing solution.

Quick answer

Use the supply station behind the right gun to requisition the ammunition and powder needed by a verified task card, then load the six-round rotating magazines. Shells and assigned charges cannot be freely taken back after they enter the firing chain, so calculate first and supply second.

The official game description mentions roughly 30 ammunition types and tactical skills, but current public sources do not establish one permanent requisition cost for every version and mode. Read the live station values.

Supply station workflow

Finish target identification, select the shell type, and print the ballistic task card before spending requisition. At the station, obtain the named shell and the exact powder charge on that card. Move each item through the loading mechanism and track which magazine and chamber will receive it.

The rotating magazine holds six rounds. Use that capacity as an execution queue: group confirmed shots by target order and gun assignment rather than filling every slot with one favorite shell.

Match ammunition to the job

Different targets and mission instructions call for different ammunition. A STAR shell is demonstrated as an illumination or marking round used to observe and correct an impact, not as an ordinary destructive shell. In Mission 2, the impact report supplies a distance and direction correction that is written back into the next firing solution.

Do not use a high-explosive answer automatically when an operation calls for armor-piercing, illumination, smoke, or another effect. Mission context and the target type come before magazine convenience.

Handle powder carefully

The charge entered at the calculator must match the powder assigned at loading. More charge can reduce the elevation and flight time for a reachable distance, but changing it also invalidates the old card. Once powder is committed, it cannot simply be moved back to inventory.

Keep the task card with the load until the breech is closed. If you change the target, shell, or charge, stop and print a fresh solution.

Mistakes that waste ammunition

  • buying rounds before identifying every planned target;
  • loading the shell from one card with the charge from another;
  • firing a correction after deleting the prior impact marker;
  • treating STAR as a normal damage round;
  • spending on reconnaissance before using information revealed by existing impacts;
  • filling both magazines without assigning a firing sequence.
